Counting 6 to 10

Great job learning 1 to 5! Now let's learn the bigger numbers: 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10. These numbers need more than one hand!

Quick Review: 1 to 5

Before we learn new numbers, let's remember what we know:

1, 2, 3, 4, 5

We can show these with one hand! 🖐️

Meet the Numbers 6 to 10!

Counting with Two Hands

For numbers bigger than 5, we use both hands!

🖐️ + ☝️ = 6

5 fingers + 1 more finger = 6 (Six)

🖐️ + ✌️ = 7

5 fingers + 2 more fingers = 7 (Seven)

🖐️ + 🤟 = 8

5 fingers + 3 more fingers = 8 (Eight)

🖐️ + 🖖 = 9

5 fingers + 4 more fingers = 9 (Nine)

🖐️ + 🖐️ = 10

5 fingers + 5 fingers = 10 (Ten) - That's all our fingers!

Fun Fact: The number 10 is special! We have 10 fingers and 10 toes. That's why we count by tens!

Using a Ten Frame

A ten frame is a special box with 10 spaces. It helps us count and see numbers clearly!
