My Family Tree

Learn about family trees and how to draw a simple diagram showing your family members.

📖 Learn

A family tree is a special picture that shows all the people in your family! It's called a "tree" because it looks like a tree with branches.

🌳 What Is a Family Tree?

A family tree is a diagram (a special kind of drawing) that shows:

  • 👴👵 Grandparents - at the top (like the roots of a tree)
  • 👨👩 Parents - in the middle
  • 👧👦 You and siblings - at the bottom (like the newest leaves!)

Lines connect family members to show who belongs together!

❤️ Family Tree Parts

  • Me: You are always part of the family tree! 👧👦
  • Parents: Mom 👩, Dad 👨, or other grown-ups who take care of you
  • Siblings: Brothers 👦 and sisters 👧
  • Grandparents: Your parents' parents! 👴👵
  • Extended family: Aunts, uncles, cousins - the branches keep growing!

🏠 Every Family Tree Is Different

Family trees come in all shapes and sizes! Some are big, some are small. Some families have lots of siblings, some have none. Some live with grandparents, some don't. All family trees are special!
