Why We Have Rules

Learn to explain why rules are important in our community.

📖 Learn

Rules are instructions that tell us what to do and what not to do. Rules are important because they:

🛡️ Keep Us Safe

Rule: "Walk, don't run, in the hallway."

Why: So we don't fall and get hurt!

🤝 Help Us Be Fair

Rule: "Take turns on the swing."

Why: So everyone gets a chance to play!

📚 Help Us Learn

Rule: "Raise your hand to speak."

Why: So we can hear each other and learn!

😊 Help Us Get Along

Rule: "Use kind words."

Why: So everyone feels happy and welcome!

Explaining Why Rules Matter

When we explain why a rule is important, we use the word "because":

  • "We walk in the hallway because we don't want to fall."
  • "We take turns because it's fair for everyone."
  • "We listen quietly because we want to hear the story."

💡 Examples

Example 1: The Safety Rule

Rule: "Stop at the crosswalk."

Why is this rule important?

We stop at the crosswalk because we need to look for cars. This rule keeps us safe!

Example 2: The Fairness Rule

Rule: "Share the crayons."

Why is this rule important?

We share the crayons because everyone needs them to color. This rule helps us be fair!

Example 3: The Learning Rule

Rule: "Put toys away after playtime."

Why is this rule important?

We put toys away because then we can find them next time. This rule helps us learn to be responsible!
