Weather reporters tell us about the weather. They say what the weather is and how they know. You can be a weather reporter too!

🎤 How to Give a Weather Report

  1. Say what the weather is (your claim)
  2. Tell how you know (your evidence)

Weather Report Pattern

Claim: "Today is a _____ day."

Evidence: "I know because I see _____."

Example Weather Reports

☀️ Sunny Day Report

Claim: "Today is a sunny day."

Evidence: "I know because I see the bright sun in the sky. There are no clouds."

🌧️ Rainy Day Report

Claim: "Today is a rainy day."

Evidence: "I know because I see raindrops falling. The ground is wet. I hear rain on the window."

❄️ Snowy Day Report

Claim: "Today is a snowy day."

Evidence: "I know because I see white snow on the ground. Snowflakes are falling from the sky."

💨 Windy Day Report

Claim: "Today is a windy day."

Evidence: "I know because I see trees moving. Leaves are blowing around."

Example 1: Complete the Report

Sam looks outside and sees gray clouds covering the sky. No sun is showing.

Claim: "Today is a cloudy ☁️ day."

Evidence: "I know because I see gray clouds covering the sky and no sun."

Example 2: What Season?

Emma sees flowers blooming and birds flying. It feels warm outside.

Claim: "It is spring 🌸."

Evidence: "I know because flowers are blooming and it is warm."
