❌ The 4 Big Listening Traps

Trap 1: Not Waiting for the Whole Message 🏃

Sometimes we answer before the person finishes talking!

Fix: Wait until they stop. Count to 2 in your head. 👂

Trap 2: Mixing Up the Order 🔄

We forget what came FIRST and what came LAST.

Fix: Listen for words like "first," "then," "next," "last." 📋

Trap 3: Hearing Similar Words Wrong 🎭

Words that sound alike can trick us! (cat/hat, red/bed)

Fix: Listen to the WHOLE sentence, not just one word. 🔍

Trap 4: Getting Distracted 🦋

Our minds wander to other things while someone talks.

Fix: Look at the person. Put down toys. Think about their words! 👀

❌ Wrong: You run to get pencil and paper before she finishes!

✅ Right: Wait! She might say "...and crayons too!"

Example 2: Mixing Up Order

Story: "First, the bear woke up. Then, the bear ate honey."

❌ Wrong: "The bear ate honey and then woke up."

✅ Right: "The bear woke up FIRST, THEN ate honey."

Example 3: Similar Words

Mom says: "Please get the PAN from the shelf."

❌ Wrong: You get the PEN because it sounds similar!

✅ Right: Think about the whole sentence—we cook with a pan, not a pen!
