Unit Quiz Questions
Try to answer each question before clicking to reveal the answer. Keep track of your score.
Question 1: What is the name of the tool used to measure angles?
Answer: A protractor.
Question 2: An angle measures 72 degrees. What type of angle is it?
Answer: Acute angle. It is less than 90 degrees.
Question 3: What is the measure of a straight angle?
Answer: 180 degrees.
Question 4: If two angles on a straight line together measure 180 degrees, and one angle is 55 degrees, what is the other angle?
Answer: 125 degrees. (180 - 55 = 125)
Question 5: At what time do clock hands form a right angle?
Answer: 3:00 or 9:00. At these times, the hands are 90 degrees apart.
Question 6: A pizza is cut into 6 equal slices. What is the angle at the tip of each slice?
Answer: 60 degrees. (360 / 6 = 60)
Question 7: True or False: An angle of 91 degrees is a right angle.
Answer: False. A right angle is exactly 90 degrees. 91 degrees is an obtuse angle.
Question 8: When using a protractor, where should you place the center point?
Answer: Exactly on the vertex (the point where the two rays meet).
Question 9: The three angles of a triangle add up to how many degrees?
Answer: 180 degrees.
Question 10: A student measures an angle that looks much larger than a square corner and gets 35 degrees. What mistake did they probably make?
Answer: They read the wrong scale on the protractor. The angle should be obtuse (greater than 90 degrees), so the correct reading is likely 145 degrees (180 - 35 = 145).
Check Your Score
Count how many questions you answered correctly before revealing the answers.
- 9-10 correct: Excellent work! You have mastered angles and geometry. You are ready to move on to the next unit.
- 7-8 correct: Good job! Review the questions you missed, then move on.
- 5-6 correct: You are getting there. Review Lessons 1-5 and try the quiz again.
- Below 5: Take your time to review the entire unit. Practice with a protractor before retaking the quiz.
