Quick Review
- Nouns name people, places, things, or animals.
- Verbs show action or tell what someone or something does.
How to Find Nouns and Verbs
- Read the sentence carefully.
- Ask: "Who or what is this sentence about?" The answer is usually a noun.
- Ask: "What is happening? What action is being done?" The answer is the verb.
Example Sentence
"The dog runs in the park."
- Nouns: dog, park (people, places, things, or animals)
- Verb: runs (the action)
